Music at All Saints'

All Saints’ Church glorifies God with voices of all ages, with organ, piano, and, from time to time, other instruments and dance. The congregation and choirs have rich opportunities to lend their voices to the singing of hymns, psalms, anthems, and other responses in worship.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir of men and women sings at 10:00 am Sunday services and rehearses Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30, September through May. Membership is open to all who can attend rehearsals regularly augmented by four paid section leaders. The choir sings classical sacred music from all periods.

The choir also sings for special services throughout the year, including Evensong a few times a year, an Advent Service of Lessons and Carols, Christmas Eve, and services during Holy Week. The choir is often joined by instrumentalists on these occasions.

Youth Choir

The Youth Choir follows the Royal School of Church Music's Voice for Life curriculum which teaches vocal technique, music reading skills, music theory, an understanding and appreciation of liturgy, and responsibility to the group and to the church. Older members of the choir serve as role models to younger members, and all progress through the RSCM ranks that acknowledge mastery of certain skills. (For more about RSCM and Voice for Life, access the RSCM web sites via the link from our "Links" page.)

The Youth Choir makes an important contribution to parish worship, singing once a month and participating, side by side, with the Adult Choir from time to time. The choir practices Sundays following church from 11:30 to 12:50. Membership is open to all students from second through twelfth grade. Church membership is not required to join the Youth Choir, and new choir members are welcome at any time.
